Utthita Parshvakonasana (Extended Side Angle Pose)
Pronunciation: OOT-hee-ta parsh-va-cone-AH-sana
Utthita = risen or rising (as from a seat); risen (from a sickness) elevated, high; endeavoring, striving, exerting one’s self, active; extended; high, lofty, eminent.
Parshva = the region of the ribs, side, flank.
Kona = a corner, angle.
Asana = sitting, sitting down; sitting in peculiar posture according to the custom of devotees; abiding, dwelling. (more…)
